Pradaxa 75 mg - 30 Capsules dabigatran etizilate Pradaxa is a "blood thinner". Helps prevent blood clots from forming in the veins after surgery. It is also used to prevent strokes and blood clots from forming in patients with an abnormal heartbeat (atrial fibrillation). Pradaxa prevents thrombin from forming blood clots. Blood clots can cause deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and stroke. Uses: • Prevent heart attacks and strokes. • Prevention of venous thrombosis. • As a protection for people who have recently suffered heart attacks, or a recent stroke, or have had diseases in the peripheral veins and arteries. Additional tips: • It is very important that patients do not stop taking any anticoagulant medication, except on the advice of a doctor, due to the risk of a blood clot or stroke. • Watch out for signs of bleeding (gums, gastrointestinal tract, nose) and tell your doctor if you are experiencing any of them. • Do not break, chew, or empty the contents of the capsule.
